Prior to 2020, I spent seven years teaching English and writing for an ESL magazine in Taiwan and South Korea. My background in education and lesson planning has taught me to empathize with those who interact with and learn from my work. Writing and editing, meanwhile, have given me a unique perspective on research and taught me to consider how others may navigate and interpret the materials I create. These experiences combined with my time spent abroad have helped me cultivate a distinctive worldview and allowed me to gain a deeper perspective of others’ cultures and life experiences.

Over the last year, I have been working to gain the skills to pivot from a career in writing/editing to UX design. I’ve been drawn to this field of work because of my interest in the fascinating and complex problems UX designers work to solve every day.

I am a lifelong learner and look forward to working on the new and interesting problems arising in the world of UX.
